Louise Enhörning (b. 1976) is a visual artist working with photography, video, and installation, delving into existential themes through the prisms of psychology, philosophy, and art history. Through her lens, she reveals what often remains unseen—ephemeral moments of being, shaped by the weight of thought, the resonance of history, and the quiet depths of the human condition. After an eight-year residency in Paris, she is now based between Stockholm and Paris.
Enhörning studied Art History at Uppsala University and pursued fine art courses at Konstfack, University of Arts, Crafts and Design. She furthered her academic interests in gender studies and philosophy at Umeå University. Early in her career, she trained at the renowned YFO photography studio and apprenticed with leading Swedish photographers, specializing in professional lighting and analog photography. For three years, she worked as a photography assistant in Stockholm, refining her technical skills and specializing in darkroom printing—particularly in color—earning recognition as one of Sweden’s foremost color printers.
Between 2005 and 2016, Enhörning lived in Paris and became part of the influential Tiny Vices platform, collaborating with artists such as Ryan McGinley and Dash Snow. Her work gained international recognition, including a feature in Rizzoli’s Photography of the Moment.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including prestigious platforms such as Les Rencontres d’Arles (2024) and the Warsaw Photography Festival (2024), as well as solo exhibitions at Södertälje Konsthall (2024), Saatchi, Loyal Gallery in Stockholm, and 0fr Gallery in Paris. Known for its intellectual depth and poetic immediacy, Enhörning’s work has received widespread critical acclaim.
Beyond the gallery, Enhörning’s collaborations with renowned clients such as VOGUE, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Vanity Fair, and Another Magazine highlight her versatility, balancing fine art and commercial projects with equal impact.
